Electrical Upgrades
A finished basement adds lights, outlets and appliances, and an older panel may not carry the load. We:
- Upgrade the electrical panel or add a sub-panel
- Run dedicated circuits for kitchens, laundry and equipment
- Install outlets, switches and pot lights
- Install interconnected smoke and CO alarms
- Prepare the electrical permit and the ESA inspection
Plumbing
We rough in drains, vents and water lines for bathrooms, kitchens and laundry. We connect to the main drain, install an ejector pump where the drain sits too high, relocate water heaters when the layout requires it and add backwater valves to protect against sewer backup. Plumbing passes inspection before we close the walls.
Heating and Cooling
Basements often feel cold because the ducts do not reach them. We extend ductwork, add supply and return runs, balance airflow and set up separate heating zones with their own thermostat. This keeps the basement comfortable in winter and summer.
Fresh Air and Humidity
Finished basements need ventilation. We install a heat recovery ventilator to bring in fresh air and exhaust stale air, add dehumidifiers and air purifiers where humidity runs high and vent bathroom fans and range hoods to the exterior.
Radon Testing and Mitigation
Radon is a soil gas that can enter through the foundation. We test radon levels and install sub-slab depressurization with a vent pipe and fan when the result requires mitigation. We then retest to confirm the system works.
Permits and Inspections
We handle the electrical permit and ESA inspection, the plumbing inspection and the HVAC checks, so your systems meet Ontario requirements before drywall covers the work.
